HIGHLIGHTS IN 2007

In year 2007, at least 8,911 people and 1,600 families benefited from various social programs. Just counting if the benefited have direct influence to their immediate families, we have impacted more than 42,000 people with our social ministries.

Students at many of our literacy center passed the exam and were able to join the mainstream schools (Junior High School). The literacy program not only enables them to get their education but gives them opportunity to pursue their dream and build a better life.

6 children from Sahyog Child Center in Gorakhpur are admitted in Mission Primary School, 1 child from Sahyog Child in Kolkata also able to attend Mission Primary School, while 4 other children enrolled to the government school.

From our Sewing Center in Ballia, Mahrajganj, 6 women opened their own sewing shop after graduated from our training. They are now able to support their family and get a better position in their community. The total numbers of 713 women and girls are benefitted by our sewing center this year.

ASSI serves 100 numbers of Handicaps with community based program & providing mobility to them. On October 14, 2007 we are conducted “Equipment Distribution Camp” in Village Bardad, Piprauli, all places in Gorakhpur. We distributed 8 tricycles, 2 wheelchairs, 2 big caliper, 2 small caliper and 5 sticks to 19 beneficiaries.

We helped during recent flood (2007) that happened in UP and Bihar. Our flood relief included distribution of food, medicine, candles and matches, plastic cover to provide temporary shelters to 1,600 families. We rain health camp that gave free medication to 500 people and provided counseling to seriously affected families with death or sever damage to property and animals.
